Manufacturing Manager - Batch Processed Materials

Do you have experience in continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for ceramics, specialty materials, powders, specialty chemicals, food, consumer products, ingredients, things that are made in batches, things that pour? Do you have experience with Six Sigma, 5S, Lean? My Long Island client is looking for someone who can manage manufacturing and is a Six Sigma leader.

 

Long Island manufacturer of specialty materials needs a Manufacturing Manager to facilitate timely, safe and efficient delivery of products. Will schedule production, provide work instructions, and resolve problems that affect manufacturing processes, quality, and delivery times. Will coordinate activities in the department with Logistics and Quality.

 

Responsible for the preparation of manufacturing schedule for all products. The manufacturing schedule is continuously revised because of incoming orders and changing requirements, and is done in conjunction with Logistics. Familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques (Six Sigma, 5S) and able to utilize them to improve processes and procedures. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

·        Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science or allied field;  Master's degree preferred

·        Trained in implementation of Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma, 5S) techniques

·        Proficient in Mathematics (Decimals, Fractions, Percentages, Weighted Averages)

·        Four or more years experienced in the manufacturing operations of spray dry equipment, sizing equipment, or other types of material processing.

·        Strong organizational skills.

·        PC skills/ Microsoft office; SAP exp. Preferred
