Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer opportunity in Houston TX Senior Level Mechanical Engineer needed to serve as Senior Metallurgical Engineer in refinery, petrochemical and heavy industrial design projects. Duties/Responsibilities: Performs Materials Engineering/Design calculations and activities. Develops engineering/materials specifications, drawings and construction details. Supports procurement specification development. Selects the applicable engineering standard, process and/or criterion as appropriate. Manage activities to adhere to project schedule. Ensures activities comply with all applicable codes and standards. Review and approval of vendor documents and vendor test results. Serves as liasion to project, client and other design/engineering/construction disciplines as required. Serve as mentor for junior level engineering staff. Travel to project and vendor locations as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering required, Minimum of 10 years dedicated Engineering/Design experience in petrochemical or refinery facilities. Understanding of materials, material properties, codes/standards, welding and inspection activities is a must. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and the ability to work independently are required. Familiarity with ASME, NACE, API, ASNT and AWS codes and standards necessary. Knowledge of Hydro Testing, Welding and NDE activities is required. Job Conditions/Environment: Normal office environment. Position may require frequent overtime and occasional travel.
