BASF is proud to be an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.Under the direction of the Operations Manager and as a member of the DST, the Acrylics Operations Engineer's primary purpose is to assure the process safety, reliable, and efficient operation of the Glacial Acrylic Acid, 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate, and Butyl Acrylate Plants.This is achieved by seeking inherently safe operations and continual optimization of the manufacturing processes, operating costs, and product quality. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of organic chemistry, unit operations, and DCS control as well as good interpersonal skills. The Acrylics Operations Engineer will work day to day with the Operations Coordinator, the DOT, and functional groups. This person is expected to grow into the technology expert for the manufacturing processes.B.S. Degree (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent), good process engineering and troubleshooting skills, good communication skills, demonstrated teamwork skills, knowledge of EHS procedures/standards, DCS, DOE (Design of Experiments), and root cause analysis.
