Workforce planning vacancies exist for Operations and Maintenance Operator Specialists (O&M O). Workforce planning is used to recruit and train employees for future vacancies within the US Pipelines and Logistics Business Unit (PLBU). Although Channelview, Texas is the initial assignment, the actual assignment could be located elsewhere within the District.
The Operations and Maintenance Operator (O&M O) Specialist will play a key role in delivering operations, measurement and maintenance support for the US PLBU.
Accountabilities Include:Perform general equipment maintenance.Troubleshoot and repair equipment as assigned.Conduct daily and monthly meter calibrations and measurement tasks.Perform manual and automatic tank gauging.Conduct DOT equipment inspections, along with meeting all DOT requirements, including Operator Qualifications (OQ) certification.Provide damage prevention oversight.Perform change of custody for ticket transfers.Perform product sampling and field analysis.Install and maintain electronic-control valves and equipment associated with petroleum liquids and/or gas terminals and pipelines.Train for Emergency Response situations, including Hazwoper, RCRA and respirator safety as required.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of O&M O Specialist applicants must have:Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.A valid driver's license and the ability to provide proof of a clean driving record.Proficient general computer and software application skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet.The ability to work independently without direct supervision, along with the ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team.Strong problem solving skills with the ability to overcome obstacles, while achieving long-term and day-to-day goals and tasks.The ability to read maps, alignment sheets, construction drawings and distinguish colors.The ability to wear personal protective equipment as needed, but not limited to, eye/face protection, flame retardant clothing, foot protection, gloves, hearing protection and head protection, etc.The willingness and ability to work rotating shifts that includes nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary and be subject to call-outs, including response to emergency situations.The willingness and ability to travel 25% or more of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.The willingness and ability to relocate to or commute to Channelview, Texas without company assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:Strong pipeline operations, maintenance and/or mechanical experience.Possess a DOT OQ certification.Proficient knowledge of pipeline systems and hydraulics.
