Operator Qualifications (OQ) Specialist

Under the guidance and direction of the Operator Qualification Coordinator and DOT Compliance Coordinator, this position provides guidance to management, and support to the field organization in implementing and overseeing all Operator Qualification (OQ) activities for Western Area Logistics, including the OQ program and other new legally required DOT programs, as well as on-going support and oversight for overall compliance with 49 CFR 195. Conducts internal audits throughout the Western Area to ensure compliance with the OQ rule. Provides support in regulatory audits. Assists in developing policies, procedures and work practices.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 5 years hazardous liquid or gas pipeline industry experience. Knowledge of 49 CFR 195, especially the Operator Qualification rule, and pipeline experience required. Previous DOT and OQ training. Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be computer proficient and skilled in Microsoft Suite of software.
