Our Major Oil Client has an opportunity for a refining or chemical professional to be a part of Team that interacts with senior management on improvements to manufacturing assets in the US and overseas. The Candidate in this role will have the opportunity to move to a position in the Client’s Commercial, Trading, or Manufacturing after this assignment.

Salary Range: $120k to $130k

Our Client, a premier refiner and chemical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced manufacturing professional to work in a central manufacturing excellence team in a Performance Analysis role. He or She will be a part of a Team that will oversee our Clients refining/chemical locations to develop agreed to business improvement plans that will be used to drive operational performance improvement.

 

This will entail extensive reviews of each site’s current operating performance and the improvement potential, the subsequent development, maintenance and tracking of site-specific integrated improvement plans, and engaging stake holders on the results of various analyses.  The improvement plans will address all dimensions of refining business performance (reliability/availability, costs, margin, energy, people, organizational, etc.).

 

Responsibilities:

Ÿ Analysis of refinery performance against inherent potential and best in class benchmarks and scoping the improvement potentials.

Ÿ Understanding all aspects of the manufacturing results: production, reliability, maintenance, fixed and variable costs, HSE etc.) Analyzing variances with a focus on learning (understanding root-causes) and improvement (corrective measures).

Ÿ Responsibility to co-ordinate the analysis of specific performance areas (e.g. margin, costs, availability, and/or specific benchmarking tasks (e.g. Solomon).

Ÿ Understanding key global aspects of the manufacturing results: production, reliability, quality, maintenance, fixed and variable costs, HSE etc

Ÿ Be a part of periodic review teams of refinery management peers to help establish the site-specific business improvement plans that roll up to an overall improvement strategy for the corporation. 

Ÿ Analysis of global database with site specific business improvement plans/progress.

Ÿ Assist site leadership teams in establishing the behavioral changes that need to be implemented to create and sustain organizational excellence.

Requirements:

Ÿ Candidate must have:

o  Candidates will have five or more years of experience in continuous Manufacturing (Refining, Chemicals, etc)

o  Have an MBA and undergraduate degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

o  Have experience in planning and economics, but more importantly they have a good understanding of the manufacturing business as a whole

o  Experience in finance is not a requirement, but an understanding of financial accounting practices would help to be able to bridge the business plan/results to financial targets/results.'

o  Willingness to dig into conflicting data and to "crunch numbers" is essential to be successful in this job. However this "willingness" should be balanced by a proper understanding of the overall business to be able to focus on key business levers

·  Experience with benchmarking data (e.g. Solomon) is a plus (but not required)

·  Candidates must be US Citizens or have a US Green Card.
