Pre-op Micro Technician

POSITION TITLE: PRE-OP MICRO TECHNICIAN REPORTS TO: Microbiologist POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitoring the aseptic collection of rinse water samples from filler valves and various equipment sampling points.  Performing pre-operational audits of filling portion of production lines.  Aseptic sampling and swabbing of product packaging.  Direct swabbing of various equipment locations.  Verifying sanitation by using the Lightning MVP surface sampling unit.  Working with the sanitation lead person to verify sanitation and microbiological sampling is complete before releasing the lines to production.  Working with the sanitation department to maintain sanitation records, logs and corrective actions as required by management.  Working as a liaison between the sanitation department and the microbiologist.  Assisting the microbiologist with testing of rinse water, finished product and bottled water.  Assisting the microbiologist with data entry and record keeping.  Serving as a back up for the microbiologist.  Communicating any problems or issues of concern to management in a timely manner.  Adhering to all Company standards, policies and procedures. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Candidate must pass pre-employment drug screen.  The ability to lift 50 lbs.  Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends where necessary.  Food Industry experience preferred.
