Our employees accomplish this by using their experience and expertise to tailor cost-competitive solutions and services precisely to the needs and requirements of their customers in Administration & Controlling, Technology Services, Communications, Enterprise Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Internal Audit, Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Procurement, Tax and Treasury.ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility of this role, as Process Analyzer Engineer, is the implementation of new process analyzers and the support of installed analyzers, as a member of Bayer Technology Services group within Bayer Corporate and Business Services organization.The incumbent will:- Work with fully automated analytical instruments (process analyzers) such as photometers, spectrometers, chromatographs, electrochemical sensors etc. which are installed in manufacturing facilities for purposes of process control, plant safety, and environmental compliance;- Be responsible for Project Management activities, including development of project scope and estimate and controlling of schedule and cost;- Be involved in project coordination across several disciplines and different levels of the organization (e.g. managers, engineers, designers, technicians, external contractors, vendors, maintenance organization and manufacturing personnel);- Lead selection of process analyzers for intended applications and design of the entire analyzer system (e.g. sample systems, process control interface, field enclosures including safety systems, etc.);- Be responsible for commission and start up of analyzer system together with maintenance organization; this includes hands-on field work;- Assist in or deliver process analyzer training;- Continue to build/maintain relationship with various functions;- Identify and recommend new technology and methodologies to address new analyzer applications and to ensure efficiency, performance, and reliability;- Conduct reliability analysis for process analyzer systems;- Trouble-shoot and problem resolution including hands-on field work;- The work will focus on chemical facilities but may also include pharmaceutical units.QualificationsThe selected candidate will possess: - Bachelor's degree in Physics, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering disciplines (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical);- General knowledge of physics or chemistry;- Computer literacy with most Microsoft Windows Office programs;- Ability to use measurement instruments (e.g. voltmeter, oscilloscope) and hand tools;- Willingness for limited business travel, domestic and international (10-20%);- Ability to achieve results with resources under the supervision of others who will have mixed levels of knowledge and understanding as well as of requirements and input;- Ability to work with people at different levels within the organization as well as suppliers;- Good analytical thinking and problem solving skills;Preferred Qualifications - Two or more years of relevant industrial experience in a chemical plant;- General knowledge of electronics;- Knowledge of sampling preparation and handling systems;- Experience with trouble shooting of process analyzer systems;- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and/or Distributed Control Systems;- Experience with CAD programs;- Knowledge of physical and chemical principles associated with overpressure and with materials compatibility;- Understanding of chemical processes and process equipment.Bayer Benefits We offer a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefit programs.
