Process Engineer CRU AEU/OSBL

The project includes a new refinery unit to process naphtha, the revamp of selected existing NGL facilities, and modification and upgrade of offsites and utilities ResponsibilitiesThe CRU/AEU Process Engineer is expected to be knowledgeable of general refining units and project execution steps. Additionally, in-depth knowledge of aromatic extraction, amine treating, sulfur plants and utilities is desired. He/she will be responsible for identifying any deviations from the agreed scope or premises of the project, assessing their impact and ensuring remedial action.  Responsibilities The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for: · Process engineering responsibility during Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Startup. · Authoring technical scope and design basis narratives · Reviewing P&ID’s and equipment designs · Supervising in-house and contractor process engineering design team activities · Assuring integrity of design, quality and accuracy of design work. · Managing HAZOP activities. · Participating in equipment inspection, operator training and unit commissioning. · Obtaining assistance from corporate process engineering and HSE groups  Basic/Required Qualifications · Bachelors’ Degree in Chemical Engineering or other equivalent engineering discipline · Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions · At least 3 years of refinery experience required. · Domestically Mobile · Demonstrated technical competency as a process engineer in a refinery or supporting refinery projects. · Solid knowledge and working experience with process modeling/simulation using packages such as Hysis, Pro II, Aspen Plus Preferred Skills: Knowledge and experience of managing major engineering contractors. Interpersonal / teambuilding skills. Leadership, communication and organizational skills. Understanding of the risk management process. Experience in developing and administering prime contracts and sub contracts for capital projects. Work Location: Location of the work with engineering contractors will be in Houston, Texas for the first 12 to 24 months. The work location during the construction/ startup phase of 15 to 18 months is Borger, Texas. A candidate may live in either location and temporarily transfer or commute to the other work location as needed.
