Process Engineer Heavy Crude Revamp - Borger

We are currently in the first phase of front-end loading for a project at the WRB Refining LLC Refinery in Borger, Texas that will increase the amount of heavy Canadian crude that can be processed. Phase 1 of the project includes installation of new equipment in the Crude and Vacuum Distillation Units, revamps to other refinery units, and modification and upgrade of offsites and utilities. Phase 2 of the project involves a long-term study of options to maximize the amount of heavy crude that can be processed and may involve the installation of new units and a major revamp of existing units. ResponsibilitiesThe Heavy Crude Revamp (HCR) Process Engineer is expected to be knowledgeable of general refining units and project execution steps. Additionally, in-depth knowledge of FCCs, Alkylation and Distillate Hydrotreating is desired. The HCR Process Engineer responsibilities / accountabilities include: · Process engineering for FCC, Alkylation and Distillate Hydrotreating processes during Front End Loading, Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning and Start-up. · Authoring technical scope, design basis and process description narratives. · Reviewing process simulation results, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, fixed and rotating equipment process specifications, piping process specifications, and plot plans.Provide process design information to and have close interaction with the Offsites / Utilities process engineers.· Guiding in-house and contractor process engineering activities· Assuring integrity of design, quality and accuracy of process design work. · Participating in Process Hazard Analysis activities. · Participating in equipment inspection, operating procedures development, operator training and unit commissioning. · Obtaining assistance from corporate process engineering as necessary. Basic/Required Qualifications · Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering · At least 3 years of refinery process engineering experience required. · Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions · Domestically Mobile · Demonstrated technical competency as a process engineer in a refinery or supporting refinery projects. · Solid knowledge and working experience with process modeling/simulation using packages such as Hysis, Pro II or AspenStrong interpersonal and teambuilding skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Excellent work ethic. Preferred Skills: Knowledge and experience working with major engineering contractors Understanding of the risk management process. Work Location: Location of the work with engineering contractors will be in Houston, Texas for the first 12 to 24 months. The work location during the construction/ startup phase of 15 to 18 months is Borger, Texas. The successful candidate may live in either location and temporarily transfer or commute to the other work location as needed.
