Process Engineer / Process Technology Advisor

As a leading manufacturer of fine chemicals, including pharmaceutical intermediates, excipients and APIs, we are seeking an experienced Process Technology Advisor for our South Haven, Michigan facility.

Key Focus:

Lead new custom product introductions to multipurpose cGMP facility. Provide technical support to the plant, providing solutions to operating problems.

 

Accountabilities:

Make and fulfill commitments on new products and programs. Product quality, schedule, quantity and cost targets are secondary to safety and environmental stewardship.

 

Responsibilities:

· Lead new product introductions to multipurpose cGMP facility, converting lab recipes to full-scale campaigns

· Develop, lead and train less experienced engineers. Estimate resources and schedule needed to fulfill commitments

· Perform process evaluation, technical risk assessment, development, scale-up, design, safety analysis, troubleshooting and start-up support

· Create process manuals, operating instructions, environmental and safety documentation

· Develop and implement safety, quality, environmental and profit improvement programs plantwide (cGMP & non-cGMP)

· Collaborate with departments, customers, internal business management and plant management

 

Essentials Qualifications:

· BS Chemical Engineering degree

· Minimum 8 years of applicable chemical industry experience

· Strong leadership, communications and problem solving skills

· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a team approach

 

Desired Qualifications:

· Minimum 5 years of applicable new product introduction experience in cGMP environment

· Experience leading teams with direct and indirect supervision

· Demonstrated new product leadership capabilities

· MS or PhD Chemical Engineering is valued
