Process Technology Engineer

Position Overview:
The Process Technology Engineer will be an experienced PhD Chemical Engineer (5+ years directly relevant experience) or a highly experienced MS Chemical Engineer (10+ years relevant experience) with general knowledge of Separations Technology and extensive working knowledge of Reactive Distillation and Vacuum Distillation. The primary technical focus will be the development and application of separation processes to reaction and polymerization. A secondary technical focus will be the transitioning of new products from the bench through pilot operations into global manufacturing. The Process Technology Engineer will be developing creative technology and engineering solutions which deliver improvements in global operations. The Process Technology Engineer will utilize and oversee analytical and physical property characterization in support of project tasks. The Process Technology Engineer will work with a variety of organizational functions, including: production engineers, product and process chemists and laboratory technicians and will lead programs and projects from research inception to successful and routine production. The position will likely require extensive travel (domestic and foreign) to facilitate growth within Momentive manufacturing sites globally.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
· Provide separations technology leadership within a global process technology team.
· Create seamless communication with Key manufacturing personnel to optimize and design World Class production capabilities within Momentive Performance Materials.
· Keep abreast of cutting edge separations technology and make technical recommendations to Senior level Executives.
· Develop strong relationships with Industry experts outside of the Company.
· Maintain safe operations within the team and with project implementation.

Required Education and Professional Qualifications:
· PhD Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience or MS Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Required Work Experience:
· Strong fundamental background in separations with deep expertise in distillation
· Demonstrated expertise in Reactive Distillation.
· Substantial distillation modeling experience with Aspen and/or ChemCad.
· Proven problem solving and project execution skills.

Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Able to travel overseas.

Desired Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:
· Vacuum Distillation expertise.
· Experience in the application of process controls and instrumentation to chemical processes.
· Six Sigma/Design for Six Sigma certifications.
