We have an excellent career opportunity available for a Product and Manufacturing Technology Group Leader within UOP's Catalysts Adsorbent & Specialties (CA&S) organization headquartered in Des Plaines, IL. This position is located in Shreveport, but will report to management in Des Plaines. Job ResponsibilitiesThe Leader of the Shreveport Product and Manufacturing Technology Group has the following major accountabilities:Ensures all HS&E requirements for the group are met; Completes scale-up of new products; Maintains and improves tools and procedures used in product scale-up; Approves trial runs and PRICE documents for UOP catalyst manufacturing sites and associated toll processing operations; Produces and provides scale-up samples to CA&S, PTE, other UOP units, and external customers as appropriate; Works with ISC and business to identify and champion rate increase, cost reduction, quality improvement and raw material supply initiatives; Provides on-going technical support to UOP’s manufacturing facilities; Actively mentors employees on technical and career development issues; Manages performance administration and salary for group; Manages source budgets to target; Monitors patents, literature and the industry for process, materials and manufacturing technology changes as either opportunities or threats; May manage Product Technology personnel located at remote sites; May represent UOP to customers, contractors, toll processors, and suppliers; Responsible for leading team that acts as the bridge between R&D & Manufacturing; Six Sigma black belt certification will be required (if not already certified).Basic Qualifications:B.S. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry; 10 years of experience in R&D; 5 + years experience in Catalyst scale-up;Demonstrated team leadership experience. Additional Qualifications:Experience in the manufacturing is preferred; Six Sigma black belt is a plus; Prior supervisory experience is a plus (5 + years); Proven ability to make sound business decisions; Able to work with minimal supervision; Experience working with multiple business units and able to communicate effectively at different levels; Self motivated; SAP knowledge is a plus.
