Production Planning Manager

PRODUCTION PLANNING MANAGER OVERVIEW:

We serve the municipal, industrial, and mining industries as well as a wide array of specialty applications.  SNF Holding Company is currently seeking a Production Planning Manager.  The company is located in Riceboro, GA, only 20 miles south of Savannah, GA. 

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

Manage through subordinate managers and staff the processes of planning manufacturing and resource requirements, implementing those plans, monitoring the execution of the plan, correcting as necessary to meet internal and external customer requirements. Analyze site business requirements and current site requirements. Develop plans to meet site goals and business requirements coordinating with global corporate headquarters in Andrezieux France as needed. Functions managed include production planning, raw material planning, scheduling, purchasing, and information technology. The candidate is expected to facilitate effective communication of requirements and goals, coordination of department and staff functions both horizontally and vertically throughout the site pulling all activities together so as to result in a successfully executed plan.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Give direction to production planning and control, insure necessary resources are available to accomplish its mission and insure that it is organized, structured and managed appropriately. The end result expected is a good workable manufacturing plan resulting is the most effective utilization of capital equipment, labor, and raw material to meet customer requirements.  This is an exempt position with on call requirements, with the direct reporting staff size of 14.

 

JOB DESCRIPTIONInforming the Customer Service/Sales Department of current lead times of orders by product types.Informing the Customer Service/Sales Department of the planned completion time of orders prior to acceptance.Checking the progress of orders in the manufacturing processes and modification of production plans for efficient use of the production lines.Providing data to the production departments, sales departments, and corporate management as needed.Notifying the procurement department of the need for raw materials or packaging needs for production.To maintain a system of product identification and traceability.To ensure production instructions or special needs required for production orders are given.This manager is responsible for an on-going training program and appraisal for all direct report employees to be sure they are trained to a high level of job competence.Coordination/follow up between maintenance, production, sales, customer service, warehouse, receiving and shipping department.Control of warehouse inventory levels to keep levels at aminimum.

QUALIFICATIONS

-B.S. Degree in Science related field or B.A. in Business.

-5 to10 years experience preferably in Industrial Planning or Manufacturing.

-Must possess computer skills in Microsoft Office programs and/or other MRP, AS400, SAP, Oracle or inventory programs.
