Production Superintendent-OxyChem

• Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority guided by Responsible Care principles.
• Ensure that Process Safety and Risk Management principles are incorporated into the foundation of department operations. Ensure annual departmental goals and objectives include meaningful Process Safety activities for all levels of the organization.
• Provide attention to detail and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
• Execution of the operating plans and directions given to the Process Supervisors to ensure production of quality products in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.
• Ensure consistency of operation, application of policies/procedures, and accountability.
• Work in conjunction with Maintenance Superintendent to ensure maintenance backlog is managed, planned and scheduled properly.
• Identify outage timing and scope. Help coordinate with Maintenance Superintendent on outage costs and outage planning.
• Monitor and ensure timely feedback is given on performance issues. Ensure consistency and keep HR “in the loop” on all performance issues.
• Ensure that a training schedule is developed and followed for production personnel.
• Provide support and direction for the Training Supervisor to ensure procedural reviews and refresher training activities are conducted within established requirements.
• Support plant capital department personnel by obtaining input from production personnel to identify projects/AFEs.
• Review production shift requirements on a daily basis with the Site Coordinators and Process Supervisors.
• Contribute to the success of the Production Manager role and assume the responsibilities of the Production Manager upon his/her request in his/her absence.
• Ensure plant production department contributes to various programs as requested by supervision such as Job Observations, Near Miss, Auditing, etc.

BS degree in engineering with 5 years plant experience.

Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
