Program Manager - EPO

The incumbent will be responsible for overall direction of assigned program which can include multiple, cross-functional projects.  Program assignments may be of significant magnitude with broad scope, have sizeable resource commitments, and considerable impact to organization.  Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  1) Provides oversight and management of programs representing functional strategies or plans that consist of several projects, each of which is independently justified and managed, while still contributing to the overall strategy; 2) Develops working knowledge of assigned programs, related goals and objectives, and interdependencies of performance metrics for projects within programs; 3) Manages complex cross-functional programs by balancing scope, time, cost, and quality while ensuring customer expectations are met; 4) Provides subject matter expertise in areas of project management including how to translate business requirements into project deliverables, how to identify risks and impacts, how to use approved methodology for improving project delivery; 5) Provides Project Mangement of key functional business area projects selected on basis of  high strategic value, high monetary investment and/or requested by business; 6) Works with key stakeholders to identify projects that will contribute to program’s goals. Assists with conflict resolution and decision making to optimize financial performance of program; 7) Provides matrix-management for Business Process Consultants within EPO and Project Leads who reside in other functional units; 8) Conducts continous project reviews to measure how project is performing in relatation to performance-to-budget and performance-to-plan; 9) Provides recommendations and visibility required to cancel, postpone, or scale back appropriate projects; 10) Works closely with Corporate HR and functional business change agents to drive and communicate organizational change derived from projects within programs; & 11) Provides input to project management methodology, policies and procedures, process improvements, templates and tools used for managing projects.

 

The selected candidate typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.  Typically requires minimum 10 years of progressive experience in project management.  Typically requires minimum 5 years of experience in program management or supervisory management of teams.  Experience managing multiple, concurrent projects using disciplined project management principles, practices and methodologies.  Experience developing work breakdown structures based on major milestones.  Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications along with managing changes to such specifications. 

 

Additional requirements include: 1) Demonstrated ability to multitask and work effectively within tight turnaround schedules; 2) Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications along with managing changes to such specifications; 3) Personnel management skills with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; 4) Ability to communicate effectively with team members and persuade timely action based on risk exposure level and compliance with deficiencies and audit findings; 5) Ability to create stakeholder relationship building skills; 6) Desire and motivation to be a self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision; 7) Superior verbal and written communication skills; and 8) Exceptional MS Office and MS Project skills.
