Project Engineer will provide Project Management for the detailed design, appropriation, procurement, and construction of capital investment projects. This includes process design and scope development for capital projects. Will require some computer simulation of plant processes, heat and material balances, evaluation of various design and cost alternatives, preparing P&IDs, developing equipment specifications, preparing project safety review and technical review information, and other basic engineering documents. Responsible for the preparation of definition and appropriation investment packages. Overall responsibility for project scope, schedule and cost control. Assists Operations in troubleshooting problems, and identifying and evaluating cost savings opportunities. Will also participate in Technology Exchanges, HAZOP reviews, EH&S safety reviews, PSM audits, plant start-ups, incident reviews, capital project meetings, and overseeing work performed by outside contract process engineers. Will participate in the BASF technical community through development and sharing of key information.Required: BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Excellent Problem Solving Skills.
Strong Technical Knowledge of Process Engineering and Project Management.
Excellent team player with strong leadership and communication skills.Desired:Knowledge of SAP Project Systems Module.
Experience in Project Cost Control and Scheduling.
Experience in the scope development and execution of capital projects.Knowledge of Project Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting and Construction Practices and Procedures.SAP/R3 Knowledge
