Project Engineer - Borger NGL Phase IV Project

ConocoPhillips is an international, integrated energy company with operations in nearly 40 countries.  As the third-largest integrated energy company in the United States and fifth-largest refiner in the world, ConocoPhillips’ goal is to deliver energy in a safe, environmentally and socially responsible manner.  Approximately 32,600 ConocoPhillips employees work worldwide to consistently deliver top performance and value to maintain the company's global market position.  Employees' individual talents and strengths combine to create a diverse and energized workforce within ConocoPhillips.  Headquartered in Houston, Texas, the company had $178 billion of assets as of December 31, 2007. This position is working on the Borger Refinery NGL Phase IV project in the various phases outlined here: Conceptual Phase:· Provides direction to the engineering contractor· Participates in development of project premises· Participates in establishing project controls· Participates in contractor selection process· Serves as company representative in contractor’s office· Accepts work performed by the engineering contractor Feasibility Phase:· Provides direction to the engineering contractor·   Participates in updating project premises· Participates in PFD & process hazard review meetings· Continues to participate in contractor selection· Continues to serve as the company representative in contractor’s office· Accepts work performed by the engineering contractor· Coordinates preparation of contracting philosophy and contracting plan· Continues to organize the execution of project VIPs AFD Phase· Coordinates direction to the engineering contractor· Responsible for updating project premises· Coordinates P&ID and design hazard review meetings· Reviews cost trend / change orders· Participates in preparation of project execution plan· Participates in development of project quality assurance/quality control program EPC Phase:· Drives Safety performance by demonstrative management· Coordinates engineering support of construction· Serves as company representative in detail engineering contractor office· Responsible for performance of the detail engineering effort· Ensures safety studies are kept up-to-date· Accepts work performed by the EPC contractor’s engineering office Start-up Phase:· Participates on system acceptance team· Participates on start-up team 



Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical field At least 5 years of relevant experience in a refinery or petro-chemical plant
