Project Management Specialist

Univar USA, North America's leading chemical distributor, currently has an opportunity for a Project Management Specialist at our corporate headquarters in Redmond. You will be responsible for administering tools and software for managing projects and tracking IT resources; providing administrative support for project managers and resource managers as it relates to resource tracking; assisting project managers in their efforts to follow company project management methodology and processes.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Designs, implements, evaluates and audits project management processes and templates for the project management office (PMO).Compiles metrics relating to IT project success, project attributes, and individual productivity and adherence to defined processes.Assists with tracking performance against IT project metrics, including costs, schedule, and satisfactory delivery of business value to ensure project goals and objectives are met.Ensures project control systems are in place and integrates project data for decision makers.Organizes and publishes project-related documentation in various sources.Administers and maintains project management and resource management software and tools.Aligns software and tools with Univar PM methodology.Provides ad hoc and custom reporting services for project management and resource management software and tools.

Job Skills and Requirements:3 – 5 years project support experience in a Project Management Office (PMO).Knowledge of project management tools, methods and best practices such as those defined by the Project Management Body of Work (PMBOK).Experience administering project management tools (e.g., Serena’s Mariner or equivalent PPM software.)Ad hoc reporting experience using MS SQL Reporting ServicesStrong work ethic with high personal standards and a commitment to providing exceptional service.Professionally mature and poised.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability and willingness to listen, and to give and receive constructive feedback.Effective problem solving and analytical skills.Quality-oriented and attentive to details.Diplomatic and willing to address and resolve conflict.Ability to both work independently and as a collaborative team player.Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management within an organization. Proficient PC skills (e.g. MS Windows, MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, etc.).Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related field, or equivalent work experience.Formal project management administration training desirable.
