Purchasing Agent - Santa Fe Springs

We are currently seeking candidates for a Purchasing Agent position at our Santa Fe Springs, branch located in California.

 

Brenntag is the worldwide leader in chemical distribution with over 130 years in business. Brenntag Pacific, Inc. has grown substantially over the last year. As a result of that growth we are in need of an experience Purchasing Agent.

 

Position responsibilities include:Develop and maintain supplier relationships.Develop supplier strategy to ensure secure supply of products at competitive costs.Conduct negotiations with suppliers to secure the lowest total cost.Recruit new product lines to improve the value of Companies’ total business.Analyze costs and suppliers across the Company network to assist all branches in securing the best supplier relationships and cost positions.Support sales effort with timely response on product, supplier and cost inquiries.Develop excellent understanding of key product market dynamics and translate market knowledge into improved supplier and product purchasing decisions.Communicate market issues to sales management. Establish optimum inventory levels.Review and adjust established reorder points on a monthly basis.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:Current work experience of 3–5 years as a purchasing agent.Ability to understand business implications of decisions.Possesses an orientation to profitability and implements cost saving measures when possible.Proficient level of skill with Microsoft Office products.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multi-task, meet time sensitive deadlines with excellent follow-up.Ability to walk for extended periods of time when verifying inventory. Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
