QC Chemist

Immediate opening for a skilled Quality Control Chemist for a pharmaceutical company in the Catskill region of New York State.Perform routine and complex sample analysis requiring refined laboratory skills and interpretation of experimental data.Comprehend scientific principles and follow written test methods accurately in the performance of sample analysis. Specifically, you will perform instrumental analysis including HPLC, GC, UV-Visible Spectroscopy, Dissolution, FT-IR, FT-Raman, Karl Fisher, etc. All testing to be completed in accordance with USP/EP including wet and instrumental chemistry. Assume sense of ownership of assigned work and equipment. Candidate is expected to work independently with a minimum of supervision, including effective organization of work schedule to complete assigned tasks efficiently and on schedule in a high throughput environment.Minimum BS Degree in Chemistry or related field plus 1-3 years pharmaceutical QC laboratory experience are required. Significant experience and expertise in at least one of the following are highly desired: HPLC, GC, USP/EP raw material testing, wet chemistry, spectroscopy, and dissolution.
