Our Client is a Fortune 500 Chemical Manufacturer.  They are experiencing rapid growth and are in need of a Regional Maintenance Manager.  This position will provide support to numerous chemical facilities in the North East Region.  This position will need to be based strategically in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area.  Relocation will be provided if needed.  Moderate travel is expected. 40-50% Travel, 50%+ initial travel expected while getting around to all of the facilities.  The territory includes the East Coast down to Florida.  There are a few large plants that require

a large majority of the time.

 

Basic Function:

The basic function of the Maintenance Manager is to provide necessary leadership and technical support for all assigned facilities throughout the North East Region.  Will improve Safety, Equipment Integrity, Equipment Reliability, and Costs.  This position provides active Maintenance Management, leadership, direction, and support for all the North East Region Chemical Facilities.  Most sites will have a reporting Maintenance Superintendent.

 

Qualifications:

 

  Must have 10+ years of Maintenance/Engineering/Operations Management experience

Prefer an Engineering degree but not mandatory

5+ years of Supervisory experience

Chemical Plant/Facility Management experience a plus

Strong organizational and planning skills

Track record of success in Safety, Reliability, Quality and employee involvement

Experience overseeing multiple plants

Strong budget, cost, and scheduling experience

Strong preventative/predictive maintenance implementation experience

Must have a strong track record of developing skills and technical skills in others

 

Responsibilities:

It is imperative that the incumbent have strong leadership skills.  This position will be overseeing multiple plant sites making sure that there is proper and adequate training, and that “up and comers” are developed as other management and executive positions become available.  Must also have the respect of all personnel when it comes to Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Management procedures and have a strong grasp of costs, vendor choices, planning and scheduling, and reviewing of annual budgets. 

 

Region Wide Assistance in the following areas:

 Assist in Annual Maintenance routines & annual budgets Effective use of human resources at each location Make sure business objectives are aligned Approval of all major expenditures (costs for parts, major machinery purchases, etc) Directs Reliability program to improve plant equipment/machinery integrity Constantly evaluating programs effectiveness Identify cost savings Aid in the recruitment of proper personnel
