Regional Safety and Compliance Director

Regional Safety and Compliance Director Airgas is the United States' largest distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases and related equipment, safety supplies and MRO products and services to industrial and commercial markets.  Airgas has an excellent opportunity for a Regional Safety and Compliance Director in its North Central Division. Based out of the West Chicago, Illinois Corporate Office and reporting to the President of Airgas North Central, the Director will provide leadership and direction for creating and sustaining a Safety Culture.  Responsibilities include conducting needs assessments; prioritizing, developing, coordinating and in many instances, delivering safety training; performing hazard assessments; enforcing safety standards and policy; and conducting facility inspections and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken when necessary. This position serves on the Management Team and is the key liaison between Airgas’ Corporate Safety Division and the Airgas North Central.  Qualified candidates will possess demonstrated leadership and consensus building abilities, a strong knowledge base in industrial, medical and specialty gases, and previous experience with DOT (HazMat Training) OSHA (Employee Hazard Communication), FDA (Compressed Medical Gas/Good Manufacturing Practices) and knowledge of the complexity of a distribution network.  Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing or chemical environment.  Previous supervisory experience is required. Airgas offers a competitive compensation program as well as a comprehensive benefits program.  Qualified and interested candidate are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and resume electronically to northcentral.hr@airgas.com.  Please indicate Safety and Compliance Director in the subject line.  Applications will be considered immediately.
