Reliability Engineering and Energy Efficiency Leader

This position is a functional technical expert role that will be responsible for providing the systems, processes and leadership to improve plant reliability and energy efficiency throughout PFP North America. This position is responsible for providing the sites with the tools and work processes to maximize plant uptime and minimize maintenance costs by improving equipment mean-time-between-failure and mean-time-to-repair. This position is also responsible for leading the improvement of energy efficiency across all N.A. PFP sites through the implementation of proven best practices and technologies. This position collaborates closely with the Regional Manufacturing Leaders, the Site Leaders and the Site Maintenance Leaders to improve asset reliability and energy efficiency in a manner that supports business objectives.

Essential Functions
• Works with the N.A. PFPD sites to develop performance improvement strategies in the areas of maintenance and reliability and energy efficiency.
• Administers, plans, coordinates, and executes company adopted standard maintenance programs and practices.
• Key member of Hexion Global Maintenance Team responsible for the development of standard work processes and optimization of SAP PM as a decision support tool.
• Provides training, assistance and tools to site based Maintenance & Reliability Leaders to deliver effective preventive maintenance and reliability programs and achieve established targets.
• Provides broad-based expertise on SAP PM functionality and other required systems to support standard work process execution in N.A. PFPD. Serves as a subject matter expert for SAP PM functionality.
• Audits the Maintenance and Mechanical Integrity programs in N.A. PFPD to ensure compliance with the established programs.
• Works with team members in the Global PFPD Engineering Maintenance Center of Excellence to resolve major stationary equipment reliability issues and other deficiencies found as a result of the Inspection and Testing Program.
• Ensures the N.A. PFPD manufacturing network is in compliance with the Maintain Facilities Work Flow processes. Provides expert support for the maintenance work planning function and the maintenance scheduling function. Develops and implements planning and scheduling standards and procedures for the plant sites.
• Works with the plant sites to develop and maintain current PM procedures and schedules that are effective and “add value” to the plant.
• Ensures Site Maintenance Leaders in N.A. PFP sites maintain the SAP Plant Maintenance equipment and functional location structures in accordance with company standards.
• Establishes standard maintenance, reliability, storeroom, and energy efficiency performance metrics to gauge the “current state” and provide the basis for continuous improvement.
• Tracks and publishes standardized maintenance performance metrics on a routine basis consistent with company requirements and aligns maintenance performance indicators with overall business key performance indicators.
• Provides technical expertise for the predictive maintenance (PDM) function and ensures that economically viable maintenance technologies that result in reduced plant downtime are implemented in the plant.
• Identifies new product and technology enhancements that could provide reliability improvement and cost reduction. Presents such enhancements to division manufacturing leadership for implementation consideration.

Essential Functions continued:
• Develops and implements energy reduction strategies to reduce energy consumption.
• Provides technical expertise in the “reliability centered maintenance” (RCM) methodology to ensure that the optimal maintenance practices are applied to each critical asset based upon its operating context.
• Supports the annual maintenance budget development for N.A. PFPD sites.
• Participates in the development of the N.A. PFPD maintenance capital budget development and sponsors major reliability improvement projects.
• Works with Global PFPD Engineering in the development and implementation of Reliability in Design and Reliability Systems business processes. Provides enterprise reliability data and analysis tools to support design requirements
• Facilitates continuous improvement, leveraging, and recommendations of learnings/resources through various activities including site audits (internal and external), training, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Provides technical expertise and identifies appropriate internal or external resources for individual incident investigation of reliability issues.
• Participates in plant engineering, reliability engineering, and plant maintenance professional organizations and networks to foster new learning and best practices / technology information sharing.

Education / Qualifications
Essential:
- At least 15 total years of progressive maintenance and reliability engineering experience.
- At least 5 years experience as a Maintenance Manager at a large manufacturing site.
- At least 5 years experience in a corporate maintenance and reliability engineering leadership role driving measurable improvement through influence management.
- At least 5 years experience operating site utilities in a large manufacturing site and optimizing the energy efficiency of the operation.
- Must have strong organizational, management and communication skills.
- Must be a subject matter expert on maintenance work processes, predictive maintenance technologies, reliability centered maintenance (RCM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and modern reliability engineering methodologies.
- Must be a subject matter expert in the SAP PM maintenance management system including experience installing, operating and optimizing this system.
- Must be familiar with industry applicable EHS rules and regulations.
- Must be knowledgeable regarding OSHA PSM Mechanical Integrity and Electrical CFR
- Must be familiar with stationary equipment, rotating equipment and piping specifications.
- Must know how to specify material and equipment needs.
- Must have extensive experience in project management and execution.
- Ability to effectively work with other plant and engineering functions.
- BS Engineering or other technical field or equivalent combination of education and maintenance experience.
- Must be able to collect data and interpret it.
- Must have strong computer skills using Powerpoint, Excel, and Word.

- Should possess a minimum of 5 years experience in formal planning and scheduling methodology.
