Duties and Responsibilities: Designs and executes organic synthesis experiments and interprets results.Prepares samples of compounds and conducts process development for compounds of interest.Establishes strong skills in the operation of key analytical instruments and understanding of analytical methods related to surfactants. This includes compositional and physical properties analyses.Develops new analytical methodology.Works with Analytical Team and Manager to provide support as needed.Writes project safety checks and standard operating procedures; and provides ideas for new and improved process routes. Writes regular technical reports and makes presentations.Interacts with other sites within the organization, including plants and other research centers. Participates in plant trials and internal conferences.  Participates in selected customer interactions.Maintain company safety standards in handling high toxic chemicals.Writes regular technical reports. Makes presentations. Searches the chemical literature.Originates and develops ideas for new/improved processes and products routes.

 



Qualifications:

Ph. D in Chemistry with 0 to 5 years experience.Knowledge of organic chemistry with familiarization of amine derivatives a plus. Knowledge of analytical methods, especially nmr, ir, and gc/ms.Good mechanical and mathematical skills and knowledge of software/hardware interfacing is helpful.Possesses a strong work ethic, self-starter, good oral and written communications skills, and proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.Possesses good interpersonal skills suitable for customer interactions.Knowledge of surfactants chemistries and applications is highly desirable.
