Responsibilities Responsibilities for the SCADA Support Specialist may include: Facilitating SCADA system change requests for field instrumentation and associated pipeline modifications while recognizing the needs of internal customers.Balancing multitasking requirements that include the application of standards and policies as set out by ConocoPhillips CPPL, including processes very specific to Control System management. A focus of safety, accuracy, quality and excellence are mandatory for the following components that create the core infrastructure of CPPL Pipeline Control System. Communications – Satellite and telephone MODEM technology. Proprietary protocol translation interface equipment. SCADA – an integral collection of servers and workstations that provide remote pipeline control based on an infrastructure of MS Windows, with historical archive and remote web-based access.Conducting configuration and maintenance management with the goal of further optimizing the Pipeline Control System.? Participating in an on-call duty rotation (1 week in 5) with responsibilities for 24-hour telephonic response to Pipeline Control System problems and customer support needs.Basic/Minimum Qualifications:   Legally authorized to work in the USA on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions. Maintain a valid operators driving license. 18 years of age or older. A two-year technical degree or higher. 5 years or more direct experience with SCADA and Programable Lodgic Ccontrolers, with the ability to troubleshoot an array of problems associated with this equipment. Willing and able to travel overnight up to 20% of the time. Willing and able to work more than 40 hours per week as needed. Residence must be within 30 minutes travel time of the ConocoPhillips CPPL Control Center located in Ponca City, OK. Experience in the design and implementation of data communications systems: serial, LANs, WANs, VSAT and other wireless connections. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs. Five or more years direct experience with pipeline equipment and facilities.Preferred Qualifications:Four-year technical degree or higher.Two years experience with a Telvent DNA SCADA specializing in at least two of the following disciplines PLM Flowpath Batch Tracking ACE coding/visual basic AutoCAD drafting toolsCompetent user of Structured Query Language on MsSQL platform. Five or more years direct experience working in a collaborative work environment, with the ability to openly discuss and share ideas amongst a workgroup composed of individuals with a high level of technical skill. Proficient (able to perform the skill with limited assistance) with Microsoft Office tools. Five or more years direct experience investigating, documenting and providing solutions based on root cause analysis methodology. Familiarity MS Windows DNS rules and security, Active Directory domain controllers and server 2000 operating system. Familiarity with CISCO networking equipment in an IP environment. Familiarity KU-band satellite communications equipment, including VSAT survey work and installation troubleshooting. Three or more years direct experience within the oil and gas industry. Familiarity with the application of Programmable Logic Controllers as RTU’s. Self starter possessing a positive attitude and pride in work. Willingness to take ownership with minimal supervision.
