Safety-Training Coordinator
SAFETY/TRAINING COORDINATOR
POSITION SUMMARY
The person selected for this salary exempt position will report to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager. The team oriented leader will be responsible for guiding and enhancing established systems for Process Safety Management, Safe Work Practices (LOTO, Hot Work, CSE), safety training and industrial hygiene program. Knowledge of Security and DHS regulatory systems is a plus as is knowledge of waste water pretreatment systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Analyze effectiveness of safety systems or procedures and ensure there is continuous improvement the facility’s safety awareness and culture.
· Monitor compliance with all OSHA standards.
· Ensure compliance with all internal timelines, reports, and statistics.
· Ensure risk assessments are accurate and up to date on all job functions.
· Evaluate, review, write and update EHS policies and procedures when deemed necessary.
· Ensure all employees are satisfactorily trained, training is up to date keep, as well as keep training files.
· Measure and track EHS metrics.
· Monitor safety and housekeeping inspections.
· Conduct fire drills, emergency response drills.
· Facilitate testing for air quality, environmental hazards, temperatures, and excessive noise.
· Prepare safety reports, technical reports or related documentation of environmental contaminant analyses, and recommend corrective measures to be applied.
· Make presentations and provide consultation on the application of safety principles, practices, and techniques in the workplace.
· Communicate technical information to other members of management and hourly work force as it pertains to environmental, health and safety.
· Understand engineering data or reports in order to collaborate with engineering on problems involving technical regulations.
· Any additional duties as may be assigned.
· Some travel may be required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
· BS/BA Degree in Occupational Safety or related subject with 5 to 7 years experience.
· Thorough knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.
· Excellent communication skills and experience applying know-how through teamwork.
