Sales Manager, Offshore Products

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, Offshore Products, in this key position you will be responsible for technical sales by developing and supporting business activity in the Gulf of Mexico. By using your own network of business contacts and relationships in the oil drilling industry segment, you will focus on gaining business exposure and sales revenue to strengthen Hutchinson affiliates’ position with customers of deepwater riser technology and oil drilling rig platforms.

 

We are seeking a results-driven, consultative sales person to work with prospects and customers. The successful candidate is assertive, resilient and tenacious with a proven track record of accomplishments in prospecting and new business development,and, in closing sales.

 

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the oil industry in a technical sales or marketing  or  applications engineering role with exceptional mechanical engineering aptitude is required.



Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering or marine engineering, preferred.

 

Additional attributes include self-motivation, exceptional organizational and time management skills, plus enthusiasm to drive sales and work independently in a global organization.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

 Conducting market research to identify growth opportunities and market share, then developing and implementing tactical plans for prioritizing, pursuing and preparing RFQ’s and closing orders.

 Researching, identifying and driving new and existing growth opportunities by providing effective, timely and accurate business information; analyzing and monitoring financial, technological and industry factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity; using information to provide direction and support to management and engineering teams.

 Working with internal and external customers to understand market demands, quality requirements, cost considerations and impact of new applications and products. 

 Using Hutchinson affiliates’ strong reputation in the global marketplace to drive and rally support for opportunities to leverage upon other Hutchinson businesses, as well; investigating and recommending best project partners and suppliers.

 Building and cultivating personal and working relationships with the field organization and customers to become completely aware of their needs and maximize opportunities.

 Influencing engineering and support groups to optimize business growth, expenses, orders and profitability to aid in quality and timely delivery to all customers.
