This new Research Lab for inorganic optoelectronics is located conveniently in walking distance between Harvard University and MIT will focus on new Material Concepts and Application fields in areas such as Photovoltaics, Displays and Consumer Electronics. SCOPE OF THE POSITION: The successful candidate will conduct experiments to synthesize new materials, modify and functionalize them develop formulations and evaluate physical properties and predict device performance. Manage and integrate a variety of tasks cross functionally to assure successful completion according to project timeline. Become a subject matter expert to support our goal of sustaining the leading position in the industry and growing the technologies in order to assist our customers’ growth in new business technologies.  DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct experiments to characterize new materials, develop models to understand interaction of chemical structure, formulation, physical properties and device performance.Identify potential material based research topics, identify technology and business opportunities within and adjacent to scope of workConduct Research Projects: Design, supervise and carry out experiments within and international environment:- Design and carry out experiments to characterize new materials - Determination of materials properties- Relating experimental results to Theory- Development of models to understand interaction of materials, analysis and Device performance- Survey of related literature and patent activityCollaborate with leading research institutes, Universities and other research partners in joint projectsSecure key IP developed, support development of intellectual property strategyManage day to day lab activitiesCooperate and coordinate with R&D and NTC in Germany    REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE:   PhD in Physics / Chemical Engineering1-2 years professional R&D in the field of electro-optical applicationsR&D in the field of semi-conductor applications / solid state physicsExperience with nanomaterials such as nanocrystals, nanowires or experience in technologies such as softlithography and experience in application areas such as printed electronics, photovoltaics, display Desired Traits: Work in a Self-managed environment.
