Senior/Lead Process Development Engineer

Xtalic Corporation, a dynamic Boston-area start-up company, is seeking an experienced, results-oriented engineer with extensive knowledge of electrochemical processes. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in the development and scale-up of innovative new electroplating processes based on MIT-developed nanotechnology. The primary responsibilities of this person will include:
Application-specific process development Transitioning laboratory-developed processes to the pilot scale Internal development work to push Xtalic’s core technologies into new application areas

 Required experience, background and skills:BS or advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. electrochemistry, chemical engineering, etc.) 5+ years of experience in the electrochemistry and/or electroplating industry Experience in the development of industrial electrochemical processes, operating from the beaker scale to the tank scale Working knowledge of tools and techniques for electrochemical development, including especially various potentiometer methods Experience in maintaining/managing customer relationships

We are seeking people who are detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.  The successful candidate will be expected to lead some projects, and provide support as needed to others.  Particular attention will be given to candidates with the following additional background and experience: Work with non-DC electrochemical processing Broad knowledge of analytical chemical techniques Education in or working knowledge of metallurgy Writing of patents, and building of a comprehensive intellectual property portfolio
