Senior Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for providing overall direction for multiple projects and Project Managers and developing new business opportunities relative to a particular Client, groups of Clients or geographical area.  Primarily responsible for project management in the Electrical & Instrumentation sector. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Initiates and maintains liaison with client to facilitate construction activities including a detailed review of bid packages, proposal preparation, safe work plans, both contract and subcontract review, job set up, scope of work, project cost review, and job profit/loss analysis to successfully complete project.

· Represents Company at bid meetings, project meetings, strategy meetings, etc. as applicable to the project within the region and/or division.

· Plans and communicates through operations department the scheduling and staffing requirements for field projects.

· Supervises and/or monitors through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.

· Provides technical assistance (i.e., interpretation of drawings) and recommends construction methods and equipment, as required.  Initiates and maintains extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.

· Manages financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintains good relationship with client.

· Profit/loss accountability for projects managed.

· Performs additional responsibilities, as directed.   

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 10+ years related experience and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

· Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and

their impact on project activities.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Extensive knowledge of construction, design, finance and project management.

· Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.

· Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional overtime and frequent travel may be required in this position.
