The Position

The Senior Reliability Engineer will provide mechanical engineering support for the most reliable operation as well as lowest life cycle cost for rotating and fixed equipment within a world-class solids manufacturing and handling facility. This Engineer will support reliability-centered manufacturing to improve occupancy and reduce costs to “best in class.”  The Reliability Engineer will demonstrate successes related to mechanical equipment such as cost and MTBF improvement projects and elimination of chronic problems through root cause analysis. This Engineer will also be responsibly for teaching engineering best practices to all manufacturing personnel for optimum asset performance.

 

Candidate Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering, plus 5 – 7 years of experience with chemicals, petro-chemicals, or petroleum production or refining.  Candidates should be should be self-motivated and highly skilled team players with exceptional cost focus.  Additional requirements include:

•  Strong cost-focus and desire for continuous improvement

•  Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Kepner Tregoe method

•  Familiarity with all ASME, API standards and reliability best practices

•  Strong technical skills and familiarity with all aspects of rotating and reciprocating equipment, as well as vessel and piping systems found in chemical plants

•  Ability to apply RBI concepts

•  Strong leadership and critical thinking skills

•  Solids handling is a plus

 

Compensation:

Base compensation for this positions will range from $90k - $115K, plus bonus, depending on experience. Our client offers full benefits including matching 401k and tuition reimbursement.

 

Location:

The position is located in the New Orleans area.  This area is a world-famous tourist destination due in to its architecture, music, cuisine, its annual Mardi Gras, and other celebrations and festivals. New Orleans is known for its multicultural heritage as well as its music and cuisine and is considered the birthplace of jazz.  The city is often referred to as "The most unique city in America.”  Relocation assistance is provided.
