Senior SH&E Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION: A global leader in global supplier of a unique range of chemicals and their derivatives, is in need of hiring an SH&E Mgr for its Chicago location. Responsibilities are as follows: Provide oversight to facility SH&E program and ensure facility activities are consistent with regulatory requirements and site SH&E SOP’s. Maintain facility records, reports, and regulatory submittals in compliance with laws and regulations. Monitor new projects for SH&E compliance. Keep updated on new regulations, identity implications for site and assist Plant Management on how to comply. Serve as first contact to government regulatory agencies, in particular for site inspections. Conduct at least 4 safety audits per month including workforce, facility conditions, new or non-regular contractors. Serve as SH&E technical consultant to Training Manager. Address and implement any changes to facility’s Integrated Contingency Plan. Serve as SHE representative in Root Cause Analysis for SH&E. Locate proper disposal outlets for non-hazardous wastes from site. Conduct compliance audits and inspections to ensure facility is in compliance with SH&E regulations. Address day to day SH&E issues and concerns, and implements corrective actions. JOB REQUIREMENTS: BS in Safety, Environmental, or Chemistry. MS a major plus. Must have worked in a Chemical production environment or closely related field. 5 + years experience within EHS. Lean / Sigma knowledge preferred. Must be hands-on type person.
