POSITION OVERVIEW

 

As the successful candidate in this high profile role, you will have primary responsibility for all technical aspects and administration of executive programs at NOVA Chemicals. You will also serve as the consultant to Senior Leadership on total compensation matters.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Direct consultation and interaction with CEO and executive level leaders on their total compensation information and company related programs.

· Submit to, analyze and develop initial recommendations for the annual executive and director compensation processes and officer level.

· Schedule, communicate and ensure accurate and effective administration and reporting about the annual executive pay processes (incentive compensation, long term incentives, deferred compensation elections).

· Provides governance support in preparation for Board of Directors and Human Resources Committee meetings.  Provides and prepares information for annual proxy reporting.

· Ensure accuracy of data and documentation on all executive compensation programs, processes and communications.

· Manage annual and special projects and reviews relating to legislative changes and compliance, business transactions, and other areas of executive compensation.

· Lead the implementation of new and/or redesigned executive compensation programs.

· Provide technical interpretation / expertise and ensure competitiveness and cost effectiveness of executive compensation programs.

· Identify and resolve complex client issues.

· Leverage technical expertise across the entire function/company.

· Keep apprised of federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure company compliance.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

· University graduate with 10+ year’s related experience and continued professional development, or 14+ years of post-secondary education and related experience and continued professional development.

· Excellent analytical skills.

· Strong systems skills; excellent Excel skills.

· Technical executive compensation experience/knowledge.

· Project management, coordination skills.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills.

· Excellent problem solving skills.

· Time management/organizational skills.

· Strong interpersonal, relationship skills.

· Understands and demonstrates behavior in alignment with NOVA Chemicals’ values, objectives.

· Understanding of operating models to ensure re-direction when appropriate (i.e. People Consultant, Leader)

· Solid understanding of key business processes/practices/policies.
