Honeywell products touch the lives of most people everyday, whether you’re flying on a plane, driving a car, heating or cooling a home, furnishing an apartment, taking medication for an illness or playing a sport.UOP is an international supplier of process technology, products, engineered systems and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing and energy industries and is a leader in the research and development of petroleum and petrochemical processing.  Our broad objectives center on the continual development and improvement of petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas production, energy and chemical production technology. UOP has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Project Engineer within our Process Technology & Equipment organization in Des Plaines, IL. Primary Direct Accountabilities:-Assist the Project Manager in coordinating personnel assigned to perform the detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, and delivery for project(s).-Execute projects in accordance with the established equipment delivery work process-Develop, maintain, and implement a project execution plan and quality plan for each assigned project.-Perform required project closeout procedures.-Perform technical functions (specify, evaluate, expedite, and inspect) related to procurement of equipment (vessels, exchangers, rotating, and miscellaneous equipment) for Modular Plants product lines (CCR, Recovery Plus, and Separex).-Coordinate the efforts of assigned team members to establish the technical basis for Detailed Engineering Design and Module Fabrication for Modular Plants product lines (CCR, Recovery Plus, and Separex).-Review Detailed Engineering Design and Module Fabrication deliverables to ensure consistency with the design basis and to monitor overall delivery status.-Ensure that UOP safety procedures are implemented on each project.-Build a positive attitude within project team by fostering productive open communication. Primary Indirect Accountabilities:-Provide sales support for project opportunities being pursued by UOP Sales representativesBasic Candidate Qualifications:  - BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering- 6 plus years experience in a project engineering role.- 5 plus years experience in the Refining and Petrochemical Industry- Ability to travel Internationally for 1-2 week durations totaling 10%-15% annually.- US Work Authorization. Additional candidate qualification: - Strong oral and written communications skills- Ability to work effectively within a team based environment.- Project Engineering experience with an EPC contractor preferred UOP is an Equal Opportunity Employer, UOP a Honeywell Company is committed to a diverse workforce.
