Sr. Research Chemist

SR. RESEARCH CHEMIST Ashland Inc. has an opportunity for a Sr. Research Chemist at our offices in Dublin, Ohio, to conduct chemical experiments and analyses related to the development of unique resin systems for adhesives and composites. Position requires a minimum of a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or related field; and two years of experience in polymer chemistry or related field. Must have two years of experience with all of the following, which may have been gained concurrently: 1) mechanism/kinetics of free radicals for chemical compounds; 2) controlled free radical synthesis techniques; 3) synthesis and characterization of chemical compounds; 4) experience with synthesis, characterization and structure-property studies of water soluble chemical compounds; and 5) experience with analytical techniques, including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and size exclusion chromatography (SEC) . Experience may have been gained before, during or after Ph.D. program. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education/experience.
