Sr Software Developer (EAI/SOA)

Play a pivotal role in defining and delivering EAI/SOA strategy and project based integration architecture using messaging technology for the utilities' current and future state systems. Assigned to a project to support a EAI/ESB platform. Roles include the following: Under the leadership of a Software Project Lead, collaborates with company customers, staff, IT colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, assess available integration technologies and recommend solution options. Act as an internal consultant, providing technical guidance or business process expertise on projects or researching strategic planning matters from a technical or business standpoint. Assess objectives for assigned project phases and recommend technical solutions to the stated business problem Assure that the appropriate testing required to meet Sempra Energy’s quality goals are met as an application is promoted from unit testing through Integrated Testing, through QA/Staging and finally into production Evaluate that an EAI/ESB service is ready for deployment of a new release in consideration of the environment it is being deployed and the potential impact to other services in that environment  Qualifications  A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related discipline and equivalent work experience and technical training is required Three to five years professional experience as a Software Developer or equivalent position Conceptual knowledge of information technologies and methodologies in mainframe, midrange, and PC computing environments desirable, but in-depth experience in one or more is critical Experience in a shared software environment, with application or portal development is desired Experience in the industry or in a production/service environment similar to that of the employer is preferredSkills/Abilities  Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Architecture and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) strategies and solutions Knowledge of SOA trends and SOA standards, including XML, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, and middleware Deep understanding of the WebMethods Egateway platform or equivalent Experience with Enterprise Application Integration (WebMethods) Experience with XML, EDI, CSV, and Database translation tools Advanced Webmethods flow development skills Experience with file transfer protocols including FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP, and HTTPS Experience with UNIX based platforms Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.  Ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks Strong knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies Ability to operate as part of a team organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning stage through implementationPlease apply online at http://www.socalgas.com/careers.  Enter in Job #07004672.
