Experience: Typically has thirteen (13) years of professional experience including at least five (5) years as a specialist with full responsibility for major technical work in incumbent's field. Recognized both by management and colleagues as an expert in incumbent's field. Incumbent will have achieved substantial industry recognition in incumbent's area of expertise. Normally will have published in significant technical journals and will have a history of active participation in technical society activities.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Analytical Services Division is committed to providing state of the art analytical support to diverse research projects within Saudi Aramco's Research and Development Center as well as technical support to wider company operations. Therefore, we seek an experienced sulfur speciation scientist who will perform the following activities: Have a strong background in separation and identification techniques for heavy sulfur compounds speciation i.e. GC, GC-MS, LC-MS, FT-MS. Characterization of sulfur compounds before and after desulfurization of whole crude oil and refined products. Perform related equivalent characterization work on nitrogen containing compounds. Utilize the sulfur characterization data to elucidate the desulfurization mechanism to support catalyst and refinery research groups. Interacts with research teams and prepare high quality analytical and research reports. Develop new analytical methods and procedures to enhance sulfur species characterization. Has technical level knowledge of various chromatography & Spectroscopy techniques. Train Laboratory personnel on new instruments and analytical procedures. The selected candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team of mainly postgraduate scientists in a modern, well-equipped laboratory. Incumbent must be a "hands-on" analytical scientist who can interact well in a team working environment.
