Job Duties:Under broad direction, supervises engineers and/or other technical staff membersProvides technical guidance to the groupConducts goal setting and performance appraisals of personnelLeads a cross functional, cross department or cross Center team in executing various corporate projects and/or initiatives (e.g., standards, best practices, lessons learned), or a standing sub-PSL design teamUtilities project management skills and tracking tools in the organization and execution of project assignmentsExecutes tactical action plans as set by department goals and objectivesManage the development team to ensure deliveryPossesses thorough understanding of the supported PSL's technology and broad understanding of the associated development toolsThis person will have responsibility for identifying and filling technological and functional requirementsA technical leader will be capable of managing outside consultants in developing solutions and coordinate project design and milestone reviewsIncorporates reliability analysis and promotes optimum use of development tools and standards during the design processUnderstands and promotes HES's quality directivesThough this individual's focus will be technical leadership, they will perform development tasks maintaining their development expertiseJob role has budgetary type accountabilities or directly impacts a revenue center's viability or its quality of service via personal contributions

Qualified Candidates must possess the following:Skills are typically acquired through a undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Material Science, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree, and minimum of 8 years related experience or through 12 years of related experienceIncumbents at this level will usually hold a certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer

Other Experience Project Management, Team Leadership, Cross PSL Experience, Reliability, PSL Specific Training, Strong Technical

Background Autonomy of Job: Under broad direction: supervision received is usually centered around job results or methodologies used such as problem solving approaches, establishing broad parameters for projects, work organization, progress reports, etc. There may be occasional General or even Direct supervision.

Leadership & Initiative of Job: Supervisory skills are required for management/supervision of a small staff of direct reports which will include 2nd level supervisory structureNumber and Level of Employees Supervised: Office/Clerical Level 1-2 Professional Level 3-10

Working Conditions: Working conditions infrequently involve some physical exertion, exposure to the elements or hazards inherent in the job which may include routine travel
