Technical Service Engineer

 

Süd-Chemie Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky currently has a position available for a Technical Service Engineer.  The position responsibilities include providing technical service/engineering support to customers; assisting sales personnel, as needed, with post-sale activities such as catalyst unloading supervision, plant start-ups, catalyst pre-treatments, trouble-shooting, data collection and evaluation using custom computer programs; travel jointly with other Technical Sales Engineers, as needed, to learn about and address specific technical issues or problems; and, making technical recommendations to improve catalyst and/or plant performance.

 

The position requires at least a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, with an emphasis on Catalysis.  The position also requires at least one year of experience with catalyst systems, including hands-on experience in the various methods of catalyst synthesis and characterization, and at least one year of experience in operating, evaluating and trouble-shooting chemical processes/reactors/unit operations either in a lab/pilot/full plant scale.  This position also requires extensive (up to 50%) domestic and international travel on short notice.
