Warehouse Worker

North American Composites is a leading distributor of resins, fiberglass, and other products for the composites industry.  An exceptional opportunity has opened for an experienced WAREHOUSE WORKER for its Baton Rouge based District Distribution Facility.

 

Essential Functions:Responsible for keeping the warehouse, office, and products neat, orderly and clean.  The product will be maintained in prime saleable condition.Will be responsible for maintaining a safe warehouse.  Will periodically check all warehouse equipment to make sure the equipment is being properly maintained and is safe to use. Receive and Stock inventory.  Will reconcile all receipts of product for correctness and completeness. Assist the Operations Supervisor in monthly physical inventories and help reconcile all inventory variances.  Responsible for informing the Operations Supervisor when inventory falls below managed levels, shortages, out of stock, or have reached re-order points.Perform slitting; loading and unloading of trucks using a forklift and by hand – Lifting up to 100 lbs. Use of drum dolly to move drums – Drum weights up to 550 lbs. Load and unload empty drums for disposal.  Use a manual pallet jack to move pallets during loading, unloading, and storage. Pull and Prepare orders for loading and shipment.  Prepare and process all sample requests in a timely manner.  Will assist the Operations Supervisor in confirming that all orders shipped are complete and correct. Will be responsible for properly completing and submitting all forms required by law and by company policy in a timely manner. These submissions are to be completed neatly.Handle all UPS/FedEx orders for shipments and process claims including common carrier and follow ups.Help answer phones and take customer orders.  Place and receive purchase orders on Adage.Maintain good working relationships with local carriers. Assist NAC Driver and Operations Supervisor with guidance on the best routes.Maintain and process weekly freight log.Must maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while on the job. Attendance at work and promptness in reporting to work are also required.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.Have basic computer knowledge, Windows, MS Office and the Internet.
