  Well Test EngineerRef #:  F28-70007421; Location:  Dhahran, Saudi ArabiaPOSITION DESCRIPTION: Provide expert advice and assistance on well testing issues. The applicant will provide technical leadership in the design of: o cost-effective well testing programs, data quality assurance systems, enhanced well testing interpretation models, innovative reservoir characterization / well testing studies and comprehensive data archiving programs. The candidate will also support operations by handling well testing operations, analyzing test data and providing technical support to operational well testing engineers. Other duties include preparing reports to senior management, developing active mentoring programs for junior engineers, conducting technical seminars, acting as a Task Force Leader to solve special problems in area of expertise, leading and participating in internal project technical reviews, authoring technical papers, taking leadership positions in local and international professional meetings and representing Saudi Aramco in technical meetings with Service and other Operating Companies, working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, delivering high-quality presentations and documenting technical accomplishments. The candidate will originate ideas for improvements, develop a basis for required field testing and management review, analyze results and recommend new or changed procedures and processes. The applicant will actively present and publish the results of technical projects. Must have the ability and desire to train Saudi national engineers and relate effectively to fellow employees of different cultural backgrounds and nationalities. The candidate must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and must be experienced in preparing and delivering technical presentations.SELECTION CRITERIA: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: MS or PhD. Petroleum Engineering or equivalent technical field. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 15 years of related experience including 10 years of intensive experience in petrophysical specialty. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of well testing operations (exploration and production) and pressure transient analysis is required. The candidate should be very familiar with computer software used for pressure transient analysis. Experience in HP/HT testing, and horizontal well pressure transient interpretation is essential. The candidate must be clearly recognized by supervisors and colleagues as thoroughly qualified and highly competent in an area of expertise. The applicant must have demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly to work effectively with others and to utilize technical knowledge to achieve practical results. The candidate must have outstanding technical capability in his specialty and have the confidence of management in his ability to analyze situations and recommend practical solutions in area of expertise. Additionally, because of prior industry experience, outside contacts should also recognize applicant#s technical expertise. Must be able to represent Saudi Aramco effectively and command technical respect. Candidate typically will be active in related professional societies and will have achieved professional recognition through publications, committee activities, etc. Intensive industry training including appropriate specialized courses and seminars is expected.COMMENTS: RESERVOIR DESCRIPTION & SIMULATION DEPARTMENT BASIC FUNCTIONS Provide formation evaluation services (interpretation, witnessing jobs, petro-physical analysis and logging programs) to the E&P organization Serve as custodian of all Saudi Aramco well logs and log data. Serve as proponent for all company logging contracts and monitor logging contractor performance. Coordinate efforts to test and deploy new formation evaluation tools and technologies. Serve as custodian of Petroleum Engineering & Producing corporate database. Issue the Annual Oil Field Technical Report. Coordinate the preparation of Saudi Aramco's oil and gas availability on a monthly basis. Coordinate well testing activities (design/witness exploratory and special development wells). Undertake reservoir-modeling studies for all major reservoir/fields to optimize the development/production strategies of the company's hydrocarbon assets. Estimate reserves and OOIP (original oil in place) for major fields/reservoir
