SUMMARY

The Apparel Program Specialist works with the Apparel Program Manager to coordinate production schedules according to contracts and sizes required to meet delivery orders. This includes ensuring that the appropriate raw materials and component parts are purchased and available to meet production schedules.  Duties include the oversight of the cutting table schedules for release to production, managing the production schedules and ensuring customer requirements are met with a quality product. This is a fast paced position that requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work and coordinate with others and previous supply chain and operational experience.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 Provide customer service and support to the ADS customer keeping them informed of progress or issues relating to GEN III (Generation) fulfillment. As NeededCreate and monitor cut and production schedule to ensure customer requirements are met.Generate shipping documentation and rectify shipping discrepancies, providing feedback as needed - Weekly Work with the Production Manager to ensure the correct parts are released to the floor in terms of both quality and quantity and the correct size needed to meet the schedule - DailyWork with the Production Manager to ensure that the correct finished garments are labeled and shipped according to the customers schedule - DailyWork with procurement staff and monitor inventory system to ensure the correct raw materials and component parts are ordered and are on hand to meet production needs - As neededWork with the Cutting Room staff to ensure that the correct parts are cut to meet production and delivery schedules - Daily.Provide shipping forecasts schedules to customer - MonthlyGather and confirm daily production numbers towards scheduled requirements - DailyDocument and problem solve quality issues working with the quality staff and Peckham’s quality management system - As neededSupport production staff - As NeededAttend Apparel/Service meetings as assigned.Assist in the training of persons with disabilities - As neededMaintain and promote a safe and clean work environment - Daily

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but will be providing direction and oversight across multiple teams in partnership with each functional area manager. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Degree in supply chain management or manufacturing operations desired, experience in production settings and/or project management experience required. Strong computer skills with spreadsheets and/or data bases required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMMENTS

Familiar with the following; supply chain management, procurement, production scheduling, shipping, receiving, inventory and ISO9001.  Computer skills required; Excel, Word, and e-mail.  Must communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and others in somewhat hectic situations. Access to reliable transportation and background checks required and must be maintained.
