Assistant Store Manager - Plato’s Closets Oregon and Washington

 

Fast growing recycled fashion clothing store for teens and 20’s looking for leaders who want to learn to perform with the best and succeed to store manager.

 

Role:

Assist Store Manager in creating a positive atmosphere and maintaining the Plato’s Closet customer experience in the store that welcomes guests and leads them to stay in the store longer and buy more clothes.

 

Measurement of success:

You will be measured objectively by the success of the store – exceeding goals is the norm.  We expect you to lead the team with your personal performance daily by meeting individual sales goals and exceeding team goals while you are the Manager On Duty. 

 

As well, you will be measured subjectively on your leadership through your ability to focus the team on our guests, by your accountability to store policies and procedures, your ability to follow and implement direction and by how you conduct yourself as a team member and how you create a positive atmosphere in the store.

 

This will be accomplished with the following attitude and behavior:Working with the Principles of Plato’s Closet in the forefront of your mind at all timesBeing consistent in own performanceBeing proactive – keeping own emotions controlled and look for the best solutions for the customer and store when things do not go as plannedBy assisting with the hiring and training of excellent team membersBy expressing clearly the expectations we have of our associates in helping guests and in doing tasks that improve the guest experienceBy holding self and staff accountable without fail and coaching behavior as it relates to:Plato’s Closet Service StandardsWhat Guest service Looks Like at Plato’s ClosetAsset Protection PoliciesLoss Prevention Policies

 

 

Areas of Direct ResponsibilityDirect the Maintenance of the physical atmosphere of the storeMaintaining the smooth operations of the store:Complete the Daily To-Do’s for the smooth running of the storeReview store supplies and request replenishment from the managerMaintain order beyond the counter area through expectation setting and trainingCoach staff in how to complete work flow behind the counter so all work is done on a timely basis while making sure you and other associates are out from behind the counter as quickly as possibleBuy process trainingMerchandising process trainingLoss Prevention:Audit each days closing paperwork weeklyRetrain associates and managers on how to complete transactions and paperwork properly: Report all deviations to the established policies and procedures of Plato’s Closet and it’s asset protection policyHandle customer service situations with the stores best interest in mindBe aware of external theft issues or suspect buys and take appropriate actionTrend management:Participate in mall visits regularly as scheduled by the managerVisit mall stores twice monthly and report to manager trend opportunitiesOrganize quarterly mall trips for the entire store along with the managerAssist the store manager in floor moves and merchandising the storeAssist the store manager in implementing the inventory management processBuy clothes from guests that suit our target customer

 

Experience neededProgressively responsible retail supervisory experience (2 years) Customer service experience in a retail (1 year) Experience in directing the work of others

 

Education requiredHigh School DiplomaSignificant progress on a College degree or completed degree
