Location atlanta, GA 30346Status Full Time, EmployeeJob Category Sales/Retail/Business Development Job Description Associate Buyer: Macy's Central Corporate Office Overview:  The Associate Buyer is responsible for merchandise development, marketing and financial management of a particular area of business. This position is a developmental step for a Buyer position.   Key Accountabilities:Identify merchandise assortments that best match customers' needs in marketplace. Analyze sales and stock at the departmentt./class level to manage business trends. Analyze and react to selling, key item analysis, vendor profitability and aged inventory. Strategically plan, manage and control markdowns. Complete accurate financial forecasts through evaluating sales, markdowns and receipts. Develop detailed seasonal and vendor plans to ensure achievement of department sales and gross margin plans. Develop seasonal marketing plan in accordance with assortment and financial plans. Negotiate co-op allowances. Recommend visual presentation guidelines to support seasonal strategies. Build collaborative relationships and negotiate effectively with Macy's Merchandising Group, vendors and division colleagues. Communicates with planners, Regional  and District Merchandise Managers, store management to ensure true partnership of business. Skills Summary:Must have previous Assistant Buyer experience. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including vendors. Ability to read and analyze computer generated reports, as well as ability to create reports. Ability to travel to foreign, local and remote markets using public transportation. Ability to select merchandise based on style, color, fabric and current trends.
