Location atlanta, GA 30346Status Full Time, EmployeeJob Category Sales/Retail/Business Development Job Description Buyer: Macy's Central Corporate Office Overview:  To maximize sales and profitability of a given area of business through the development and implementation of strategy, analysis and appropriate reaction to sales trend.  Additionally, Buyers provide overall support of the company sales, gross margin, and turnover objectives. Key Accountabilities:Train, motivate and develop team to ensure effective performance and growth through consistent on-the-job training. Establish department direction and priorities, and communicate effectively to merchant team. Develop and execute seasonal merchandise plans and pricing strategies. Complete accurate forecasts evaluating financial components based on current trend, and knowledge of future events which will impact the business. Develop assortment plans which support the departmental goals and key item focus. Profile target customer to ensure customer satisfaction . Partner with the planner on the development of locational assortment plans. Manage vendor performance to maximize profitability and achieve financial objectives. Communicate with Macy’s Merchandising Group for direction and recommendations to maximize division performance. Determine marketing plans and promotional calendar. Reconcile marketing plans with assortment and financial plans. Develop visual presentation guidelines for the stores to support seasonal strategies. Maintain collaborative partnerships and negotiate effectively with vendors and internal colleagues. Skills Summary:Must have previous Associate Buyer experience; Buyer experience preferred. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to include vendors. Ability to read and analyze computer generated reports, as well as completing report calculations. Ability to travel to foreign, local and remote markets using public transportation. Ability to select merchandise based on style, color, fabric and current trends.
