Chief Financial Officer-High-End Apparel Company
This is a senior management for a growing apparel company responsible for leadership and assistance with strategic and tactical execution on all accounting and finance initiatives as well as coordination with outside relationships. The CFO will be engaged in all aspects of the business.
Reporting Relationship:
The position reports to the CEO/President. The CFO has three direct reports. The CFO also provides
strategic direction for finance teams in other offices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Enhance and implement financial/accounting policies, processes, and internal controls, to increase staff efficiency and effectiveness, as well as protect organizational assets.
· Enhance, disseminate, and manage financial budgeting and forecasting processes, to ensure alignment with and achievement of organizational strategies and priorities. Recommend approval of the annual financial plan to the management team and Board of Directors, which establishes salaries, general operating expenses, program expenses, and level of funding.
· Generate regular financial statements and analyses for the management team and the Board of Directors. Responsible for providing detailed financial information to leadership team.
In conjunction with the CEO, responsible for the investment cash balances and investment portfolio. Create cash investment policies and procedures, to ensure maximum return on excess cash while maintaining liquidity, minimizing risk, and providing reserves for long-term liabilities.
· Create, enhance, and manage accounting processes (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, fund transfers to and from other offices, monthly detailed accounting reports ), and develop other financial and accounting policies and procedures as needed.
· Responsible for all general ledger entries including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll.
· Direct annual external audits and other filing requirements.
· Collaborate with outside parties to manage the organization’s financial and compliance needs, and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
· Set strategic direction for the rapid growth and expansion of the organization.
Requirements
· CPA and master’s degree in a related field of study, or MBA
· Ten + years of finance/accounting experience.
· Apparel, textile industries required.
· Minimum of 5 years in a management capacity.
· Experience in successful implementation of a wide range of improvements in a prior finance/accounting position.
· Prior success working closely with and building relationships with staff and a Board of Directors.
· Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
· Turnaround experience. Able to build investor confidence.
· Experience in large public company.
· Strong operations experience.
