Currently we are developing a new concept that promises to follow in the successful footsteps of our existing brands.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Director of International Transportation is a critical partner to the entire Supply Chain team, and is ultimately responsible for the international transportation of merchandise around the world.  This individual must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fluid and ever-changing business environment, balancing cost considerations with on-time delivery of merchandise. The individual must have a thorough understanding of how to manage risks, reduce costs and cycle time and how to provide information to various internal customers about the flow of merchandise. The individual must have a proven record in developing and motivating staff or associates across multiple cultures.

 

This position requires excellent negotiation and time management skills, and regular travel (25%).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Directs and oversees the company’s International Transportation strategy to ensure delivery deadlines in the US, Europe and Asia while providing complete information about product location.

 Develops policies related to procurement of services to support the business.  Familiarity with a wide variety of supply chain concepts, practices and procedures.  Relies on expertise and experience to make recommendations and to plan and accomplish goals.

 Oversees negotiations with vendors.  Cultivates and maintains relationships with the goal of identifying opportunities for greater efficiencies and cost savings. Manages service providers to ensure best-in-class service to internal customers.  Represents A&F at industry events.

 Benchmark service providers and procedures with other like companies.

 Maintains positive relationships within A&F through regular meetings and presentation of key initiatives and opportunities. Deliver management reporting with appropriate detail and summary information to facilitate decision-making.  Ability to interface easily and effectively with Senior Management.

 Manages online logistics information to support end users..

 Responsibility for development and ongoing improvement of initiatives that support the brands through logistics excellence.

 Excellent people management skills. Ability to lead a team and develop future leaders.

 Exceptional judgment and business acumen.  Well-developed problem solving capabilities, time management skills, and organizational skills, including the ability to develop and execute project plans.

 

Qualifications4-year degree (required), MBA (preferred).

 7-10 years experience in an International Supply Chain role, preferably with a specialty retailer.

 Experience managing a staff of supply chain professionals.

 Literate in basic Supply Chain software applications

 Highly motivated and results-oriented
