Responsibilities: 

 

The Cost Analyst is responsible for monitoring costs of products, providing management with accurate and reliable information for decision making, and protecting and safeguarding Company assets while adhering to Company standards for safety, clean environment, quality, productivity and meeting customer requirements.


Essential Functions:

 Establish, maintain and analyze standard costs for inventory including ECR's and annual cost roll.Assist with month end close and preparation of month end reporting.Establish inventory valuation and determination of reserves.Participate with operations in determining EOQ, excess and obsolete inventory.Analyze and report variances to standards and spending variances.Assist with manufacturing and cost of goods sold analysis.Assist in the development and preparation of annual business plan.Assist with cycle count procedures.Conduct audits to ensure accurate cycle counts and physical inventory valuations.Participate in Six Sigma teams by helping to derive cost savings for projects.Assist operations with analyzing departmental expenses.Provide cost center information for freight charges.Support and actively maintain Company guidelines for quality, safety and good housekeeping.Maintain clean and orderly work area.Comply with all Company guidelines for maintaining the environment.Commit to and participate in activities for continuous improvement.Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalentCertified Management Accountant or CPA with concentration of audit experience in manufacturing/inventory management or equivalent work experience Experience in manufacturing cost accounting, fixed asset and project accounting desirable Proficiency in computer and related software programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Hyperion, SAP, etc.)Ability to work overtime as neededAbility to work well within team environmentGood communications skills, both verbal and writtenAble to keep confidentiality of company, customer and vendor information

 Reports to Accounting Supervisor Position is located in Hopkinsville, KYWorking conditions are consistent with a typical office environmentTravel is minimal (less than 10%)
