IT Technical Support

 

Position Summary: 

Provide exceptional technical support and customer service to end users, customers, technical staff, and management.  Work closely with end users and technical staff in assisting in all areas of customer technical support.

 

Essential Functions of this Role:

Excellent communication skills are required in this high profile customer service, technical support environment. Candidate must exude a positive image that reflects well on the IT department and the organization. Candidate must possess strong technical knowledge with several years experience in supporting personal computers and general information technology including the installation, setup, configuration, deployment, upgrade, maintenance and support of personal computer systems, laptops, mobile devices including Blackberry’s and PDA’s, peripherals including laser printers and thermal label printers.Candidate must be proficient in the support of all Microsoft Office applications including installation, configuration and optimization. Experience in the use and support of Symantec Ghost, Disk imaging, Proxy remote access and knowledge of PBX and VOIP phone system support is required. Candidate must be detail oriented, demonstrate exceptional communication, documentation and organizational skills, must be able to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously and complete tasks assigned. Candidate is expected to utilize experience and good judgment, will work closely with IT management providing current status on tasks/projects assigned, and maintain up to date information utilizing business specific helpdesk application and procedures. Candidate must be a self-starter, work independently and under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Minimum Education, Experience and Skills Required:College Degree or at least 5 years experience in a high profile customer service environment.Ability to follow through on tasks and a 'can do' attitude is required.Must be proficient in the use and support of PC computer systems, all Microsoft Windows and Office products and general business applications.Experience in the use of Microsoft Active Directory, Symantec Ghost, setting up Blackberry’s and using Helpdesk software.Must have a strong attention to detail, meticulous documentation skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent communication skills are a must as you will be responsible for interfacing with several areas of the company as well as maintaining close communication with technical staff and end users.Must be able to work as part of a team and with a diverse group of people and projectsPrevious work experience in a technical support/helpdesk environment is highly desirable.
